I've probably told you about this before, but I really do see the good, happy, creative side of people  working as a charity fundraiser!  The energy and enthusiasm of our supporters surprise me all the time and keep my spirits lifted while the work itself can be challenging and at times extremely stressful!


To give you a flavour of what has been happening in fundraising at Revive for the past couple of months, here's a few examples!

• we have had all sorts of volunteers pitch in to make our own art show such a success, that included painting art, hanging art, selling art, wrapping art, and lots and lots of carrying art here and there!  it was  all worth the work though as we made a magnificent £7,700!
• Our Ambassador Jenny Wilson-Best persuaded a whole bunch of her oepra friends to walk 600+ miles round Scotland, in all weathers, and busking in several main Scottish cities.  They managed to smash through their £10,000 target!!
• On a similar note, Jason Ellis, a keen cyclist and physio student at Glasgow Caledonian University took cycled from John O'Groats to Glasgow at the start of July.  I think it was very wet at the time, but what a fantastic achievement.  Jason is still collecting donations!
• Jean Kelly decided to nominate Revive for her work's monthly charity day, and used this opportunity to raise the profile of our charity to all of her colleagues.
• Fern Campbell's mum has MS and uses services at Revive.  She encouraged her work colleagues at Dental Studios Glasgow to join her in a 24 hour FAST, and has raised over £250 so far!
• Revive client Andy O'Dowd realised that walking the West Highland Way, or running a 10K wasn't for him, and decided to raffle off a fantastic TV, which took in a whopping £1,150!

There are other letters, cheques and cards coming in each week to Revive of wonderful ideas, and hobbies that people have been able to turn into a fundraiser for us.
