Elaine Green is due to retire from BA in a years time after 42 years continual service. Elaine is an extremely committed individual who has consistently gone beyond the requirements and standards of her job role every day. Even including additional work hours each day over and above her A scale paid hours. In her current role here at BA Maintenance Glasgow as Quality and Training Administrator she is very much seen as `the real leader` of my team and the person that we all go to when we want something organised properly!! Elaine is the focal point for so many things at BAMG and is a real asset to our part of the organisation. All of this despite Elaine being treated for MS over the last few years. However, her mobility restrictions rarely get in the way of her doing her job to the highest standards. Elaine and her husband Jim have been heavily involved in athletic for years including coaching and organising events for young and older athletes.. Sport, Athletics and the Olympics in particular are a huge passion for Elaine and her family and the chance to be involved in the prestigious event in any way, shape of form would be hugely appreciated, respected and enjoyed by her. I can think of no better send off as she approaches her much deserved retirement next year than to be an Olympic Torchbearer on behalf of British Airways.. Elaine has been nominated by the BAMG Quality Team and we in the BAMG Leadership Team wholeheartedly endorses this as a highly appropriate tribute..Elaine Green - Olympic Torchbearers - 2012 Olympics | London 2012
